Wedding Over!

Wow, what a busy couple of days! We spent all afternoon on thursday cleaning and moving furniture and watering flowers... and that was before the rehersal, which wasn't too long but kinda confusing (moving where we were going to have the ceremony was interesting... apparently Sarah didn't realize there would be a tree in the way and that no one would see it...). Then we (the bridesmaids + peter and danielle) had ice cream with Sarah, then went to Jon's for more food. After that we went back to Brenda's (Sarah's mom's, where we were setting up for the wedding) for - you guessed it - more cleaning! I was filthy and exhausted by the time I left, and later on that night Pete and I went for a walk along the Harbour Passage which was quite nice. I was amused by the indian couple who walked by while peter and I were on a bench making out... on saturday, i was up early because i had to go to the dollar store to find wrapping paper. i got to Brenda's around 11:40ish and after unwrapping several candle holders (apparently Sarah felt it more important to unwrap them then start heading over for our hair appointments) and then I went to pick up the other Sarah (maid of honour Sarah) at the Snow centre to bring her over. We were at the hairdressers for almost 4 hours, luckily Brenda was a doll and made us sandwiches (that woman is amazing!) Danielle did the makeup, and it looked fab. We eventually got back to Sarah's and got dressed for photos. I think they'll turn out great, it was SO HOT in her neighbours garden, but it was absolutely beautiful. We then went back to Brenda's to hang out for an hour and have a couple drinks to calm the nerves. Then, the wedding just happened. It was short, Sarah's ring ended up on the wrong hand and she knocked over a vase of flowers after signing the marriage license, but it was all in Sarah style really. Then it was back to the neighbours for more photos, then finally back to brendas for food and WINE AND BEER!!! They make such good wine... i had a lot... I saw Amanda Lohnes, Maggie Sheppard, Megan Lemoine, Lenny and Shannon (talked to them at the open house the next day too... can't wait till they get married!) and Trish and Rob. Speeches were hilarious, Sarah Lynn (maid of honour) didn't want to do one but it was really great. Steve's was funny, he listed off all of Jon's jobs... he once was a translator for a german gay chatline... Hugh's was pretty funny, but mostly because he started saying something like "it's amazing how much your children are really yours, but then how they aren't at all" and sarah popped in with "actually dad, i came from your sperm" and everyone roared. I caught the bouquet, peter caught the garter. that was pretty cool, it gave us a good reason to make out. i had a lot of wine and talked with sarah lynn for a long time, we dance by ourselves and it was cool. near the end of the night, danielle, peter, shane and i walked down to the shore, it was beautiful down there but dark... we had a candle but it went out... somehow we made it back, i had a bit more wine, then changed and we left. Lu drove pete and i to the beach where we spent most of the night. it was really beautiful. Then we stumbled home around 5am, crossing through a few yards and completely full of sand and grass. It was funny. Slept in late yesterday, then went to Brenda's again for the open house. I finally got home last night after six, went to see my grandmother, then came home and fell asleep on the couch around 8:30. I woke up around 1:30, then went to bed and didn't get up until 10 today.

It was quite the weekend.

Congrats Sarah and Jon, you guys had a wicked wedding.
